Projects that make it more practical to run AI, and to hold the data it uses, without depending on a provider you cannot leave. Each one is here because someone read it and argued for it, not because it trended.

Growth is sampled daily from GitHub’s own star counts rather than estimated, so a rate only appears after about two weeks of observations. Until then a project reads “measuring” — which is the honest answer, and better than a number we cannot stand behind.
